“It’s challenging, it’s hard,” she said.
She also works at Raleigh-based TLC (formerly the Tammy Lynn Center) as a Family Connect outreach specialist, in addition to tending to her son’s needs.
“Just this week, my son started saying ‘good morning’ — that is huge,” said Richman.
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services recently awarded TLC a $745,000 grant. The funding will be used to launch Family Connect.
