Volunteer at TLC

TLC’s main campus spans nine-and-a-half acres next to NC State’s Centennial Campus. Maintaining this space takes many hands, and volunteer groups play an important role in keeping it welcoming and safe for those whom we serve.

Residential and Day Program Activities:

  • Outings to places like the NC State Fair, museums, and the zoo
  • Hosting arts and crafts activities
  • Playing music and games with our residents and day program attendees
  • Reading books with our persons served

Property Projects:

  • Spreading mulch and trimming bushes
  • Washing our fleet of vans
  • Cleaning exterior windows
  • Removing fallen limbs and debris
  • Power washing buildings and patios
  • Decorating homes and day program for various holidays

Assist With An Upcoming TLC Event

If you enjoy giving back in a more social setting, volunteering at a TLC event may be the right fit. TLC hosts large-scale fundraising events each year and relies on volunteers to help bring them to life.

Ways to get involved include:

  • Helping secure silent auction items for Toast (April)
  • Volunteering at our annual Golf Classic (September)
  • Volunteer with our residents, day program attendees, and staff at our annual Staff Appreciation Event (October)
  • Share your photography or videography skills

Fundraise for TLC

Support TLC by raising funds or collecting items in a way that is meaningful to you. TLC can help support by setting you up with a special donation page and sharing information for you to give out about the impactful work we are doing with your help.

Ideas include:

  • Peer-to-peer fundraising through a special run or hosting an event to benefit TLC
  • Hosting a giveback night with your favorite, local restaurant
  • Creating a supply drive for wish-list items from TLC

Share our Mission

You can help expand TLC’s reach by sharing our story with your networks.

Opportunities include:

  • Invite TLC to speak at your next gathering (civic, religious, corporate, social)
  • Promote events or fundraising campaigns with your networks
  • Host friends, family, or colleagues for a campus tour offered monthly or by appointment
  • Help thank donors through notes or phone calls with the Strategic Impact & Outreach team
